Looking for the best Gaming PC for $600  ? Then this article is made for you. After studying many benchmarks, we were able to establish the most optimal PC configuration in terms of performance for the sum of 600€. In this article, we will therefore present to you, component by component, the choices we have made. Since this PC configuration is made for gaming, we will give you an estimate of the performance you could obtain on the latest games of the moment.

Before you start, you should know that this PC configuration will be to assemble yourself. This means that you will have to buy each component individually and then assemble them together to get the final computer. Assembling your PC yourself allows you to make big financial savings, and therefore to obtain a much better performance/price ratio. Obviously, we know that a large number of people do not know how to assemble a computer, which is why we will give you at the end of the article links to buy gaming PCs at 600 € already assembled. If ever your budget is a little lower, we have established a PC configuration for you at 500€ in a previous article. So without further ado, here are the components of our 600€ computer :

Advantages and Disadvantages of the PC at 600 €

This $600 PC has a number of advantages, as well as a few disadvantages. Among the advantages we can first mention its excellent price/performance ratio. Indeed, for 600€ you will hardly find better performance than this computer. Another very interesting advantage is its hybrid side, in particular thanks to the AMD Ryzen 3600 CPU. This computer will therefore allow you not only to play, but also to do fairly heavy applications such as video or photo editing. The presence of an SSD is also an advantage not to be overlooked. The latter will allow you to speed up the loading times of the games and software you want, and at the same time to increase your storage space.

This PC is unfortunately not perfect and has some drawbacks. First of all, the performance of this computer may quickly be limited in 1440p and 4K. This config is indeed cut for 1080p, because the resources required to play in 1440p and 4K are far too high. In addition, in intensive use, the RX 590 graphics card will tend to heat up and consume a lot. This issue is typical of mid-range AMD GPUs. You will therefore need to provide a good cooling system.

Best Gaming PC Build Under 600

The processor – AMD Ryzen 3600

The processor represents the heart of your PC, and is therefore an essential element that should not be overlooked. For this config at €600, we went with a CPU from AMD, the Ryzen 3600. Most gamers have a bad image of AMD, in particular because of their “toaster” processors which tended to heat up enormously to not much in the past. However, with the Ryzen range, AMD has made a facelift by releasing optimized processors, which heat up very little, and whose performance is extremely interesting.

This Ryzen 3600 is available for less than €200, and offers excellent performance for 1080p gaming. Its hybrid side will also allow you to do many tasks in parallel, such as video editing or streaming. This Ryzen 3600 processor therefore has its place perfectly in our €600 PC .

The graphics card – AMD RX 590

Regarding the graphics card, we have also chosen to go with a model from AMD by choosing the RX 590. Also available for around 200€, this GPU will allow you to run all the video games of the moment in 1080p. You will also be able to run the games to come in 2020 without any problem. Be careful though, the RX 590 tends to heat up a lot in game, you will need to install a good cooling system on your PC. Despite everything, the quality/price ratio of this RX 590 is excellent, and we could not have obtained similar performance by choosing a graphics card from Nvidia. This AMD graphics card will also allow you to take advantage of Free-Sync technology on your screen.

The motherboard – MSI B450M Pro VDH

Without further ado, let’s move on to the motherboard. The choice of the motherboard must be done after the choice of the processor. Indeed, not all motherboards are compatible with all processors. The motherboard socket must match the processor socket. Here, we have chosen the B450M model from MSI. This model is one of the cheapest available for socket AM4. It is indeed useless to spend large sums in the motherboard for a PC at 600 €. Since the motherboard has no influence on performance, it is better to concentrate your budget on the processor and the graphics card. This B450M still does its job very well, and has all the necessary connections to properly set up your PC.

RAM – 8GB DDR4 Crucial

RAM is an essential element that should not be overlooked. Indeed, a RAM deficit can cause big jerks in games, and thus completely ruin your experience. Since this 600€ gamer configuration is not made to run all the big games in 1440p, we chose to take only 8GB of RAM. This amount is currently sufficient for all games, but could be a problem on some big upcoming titles, such as Cyberpunk 2077. We therefore advise you to go with 16GB of RAM instead if your budget allows it.

Here we have chosen a model from Crucial, a brand recognized as reliable in the field. The model we have chosen is clocked at 2400Mhz, but do not hesitate to take a higher frequency model. This will slightly boost your in-game performance.

Storage – 120GB Crucial SSD & 1TB Seagate HDD

For the storage part, we chose to pair an SSD with an HDD hard drive. The SSD will be used to install Windows, in order to have better PC launch times. The HDD will be used to install all the big video games, like Red Dead Redemption 2 for example. You should know that the SSD does not increase your performance in game, but only serves to reduce launch and loading times. These two elements are essential in a config at 600 €.

Power supply – Aerocool Lux 550W

This entire PC setup is powered by a 550W power supply. Here we have chosen a model from Aerocool with 80+ Bronze certification. This certification guarantees you a certain energy efficiency, thus making it possible to reduce the electrical consumption of the power supply. In addition, this Lux model is semi-modular, which means that only the motherboard power cables are natively present on the power supply. You can connect the rest of the cables to your guide, thus avoiding unnecessary wires lying around in the box.

The case – Cooler Master Masterbox 5

Finally, we decided to integrate all of this configuration into a box from Cooler Master, the Masterbox 5. This box is quite well optimized for small configs, and has 2 slots for fans. A dust filter is also integrated under the box to limit the dust that enters the box. On the front, this box has two USB 3.0 ports as well as a jack and a microphone socket. However, we will regret the lack of space for a CD player. Despite everything, the components of our 600€ gaming PC will fit perfectly into this case.

Performance of the PC Gamer at 600€

In order to give you precise indications on the real performance of this 600€ gamer config, we have gone through many benchmarks, and here are the results:

  • On Fortnite, the average obtained is 117 FPS in 1080, all with the graphics set to high.
  • On F1 2019 our config gets around 83fps, again at 1080p with the graphics options on high.
  • On The Division 2, the performances are quite good since our gaming PC manages to maintain a framerate of 81 FPS in 1080p with graphics set for the most part on high.
  • Battlefield 5 also runs extremely well as we manage to get an average of 89 frames per second by setting the graphics to “High”.
  • Apex Legends also runs extremely well as we get 81 FPS setting the graphics to ultra, all at 1080p.
  • The performance obtained is a little lower on Far Cry New Dawn, but remains excellent all the same. Our config averages 71 FPS on this video game, setting the graphics options to high.
  • Finally, our computer manages to run Grand Theft Auto 5 at around 100 FPS in 1080p, an excellent result.

As you can see, our gamer config is excellent for 1080p, and runs all games in ultra without difficulty. We can therefore assume that this configuration will also be very efficient on future games, such as Watch Dogs Legion or even Cyberpunk 2077.

Gamer PCs mounted at 600€

A number of people don’t know how or don’t want to build their PCs themselves. It is therefore obviously possible to buy already assembled gaming PCs. Obviously, the latter generally offer a lower quality/price ratio, because you have to pay for the assembly of the computer. We have therefore made a selection of the best already assembled gaming PCs available for 600€:Table could not be displayed.

The first computer is the AWD-IT Gaming. Available for €620, this PC features an AMD Ryzen 2600 processor. The graphics part is provided by a Radeon RX 570 graphics card, which is a little below the RX 590 in terms of performance. In terms of RAM, we will find an 8GB bar in DDR4, but it is possible for around €50 more to have a version with 16GB of RAM. This computer comes with an activated version of Windows 10, so you don’t have to pay for a license. The design is also very successful, including RGB fans on the front.

The second PC mounted at 600€ that we would like to present to you comes from Fierce. This is the Fierce Venom model including a GPU very close to the one presented at the beginning of the article. The processor of this computer also comes from AMD since it is the Ryzen 2300X. The latter may seem a little light, but it is sufficient for gaming at 1080p. This CPU is coupled with an RX 580 video card in its 8GB version. This graphics card offers performance about 10% below the RX 590.

Finally, we chose a computer from Megaport, the Vector Gamer. This computer embeds the same processor as the PC from AWD-IT, namely a Ryzen 2600. The big advantage of this AMD CPU is based on its ability to perform both in gaming and in applications. At the level of the graphics card, this computer is equipped with the very recent GTX 1660 from Nvidia, a card cut to offer excellent performance in Full HD. The storage part is provided by a 1TB HDD, but we will regret the fact that Megaport did not decide to include an SSD in this computer.
