This PC Gamer configuration at 900€ allows you to play in excellent conditions in 1080p but also to try out 1440p at more than 60 FPS on most games.

The PC takes the Intel Core i3-12000F processor from our €800 configuration and combines it with a Radeon RX 6600 graphics (new) or a GTX 1080 /  RTX 2060 (used) . For the rest, we find a B660 motherboard, 16 GB of DDR4, a 500 GB M.2 SSD or a box capable of following the different evolutions of your machine.

As with all the configurations we offer, the components are regularly updated according to availability, price changes and new releases.

PC Gamer 900€
The complete configuration

Intel Core i3-12100F Processor

For this PC Gamer configuration at 900€, we stay on the excellent Intel Core i3-1200F already present on our machine at 800€. With its price displayed below the 120€ mark, it is one of the best current quality/price ratios for setting up a machine that is comfortable on gaming but also on the application.

If the CPU is limited to only 4 Cores and 8 Threads, it displays better performance than a Ryzen 5 3600X when using it. With a Turbo frequency of up to 4.4 Ghz, it even rivals its big brothers the Core i5-10600K and 11600K. For less than 120€, hard to find better at the time of writing these lines!

Note that this “F” version requires a graphics card to enjoy a display. The CPU also comes with a cooler, but it will be replaced here by a more efficient model (or an AIO watercooler depending on your budget).

Gigabyte B660M
DS3H DDR4 Motherboard

To accompany the i3-12100F, we go here on the new generation of motherboard with B660 chipset. It is anyway impossible to opt for B560 motherboards for example, this 12th generation of Intel CPUs comes with a new LGA1700 socket.

The prices of these new cards being still relatively high, we are moving towards an entry-level model with the Gigabyte B660M DS3H DDR4 . Available around 120€, it is one of the most affordable in the sector but its characteristics are more than enough to cover the needs of our configuration of the day.

The card has a mATX format and a fairly simple design, which goes to the essentials. However, with 4 DDR4 slots, 2 PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, a PCI Express 4.0 slot or even a 6+2+1 phase VRM, few gamers will really need more. At the back, the card has 6 USB ports, one of which is USB-C.

For about 30€ more , you can also opt for the version directly integrating a WiFi and Bluetooth connection.

Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM (2×8 GB @3200 Mhz)

No splurge on the RAM side for this $900 Gamer PC. As often, we recommend moving towards a 2 x 8 GB @ 3200 Mhz kit with Corsair Vengeance LPX here .

Proposed at around 75€, it is one of the best current quality/price ratios and it will allow us here to take full advantage of the 12100F associated with this B660 motherboard.

Do not hesitate to check the prices of the other kits on the market, they often change according to availability. If you want bars that are a little more “beautiful” but just as efficient, look in particular to XLR8 with the EPIC-X RGB models often offered at attractive prices.

Radeon RX 6600 Graphics Card

For this PC Gamer configuration at 900€, we have a budget of around 400€ for our GPU. With prices tending to fall, we can now opt for the recent Radeon RX 6600 , which is now below the 400€ mark, or even around 350€.

At this price, it’s hard to find better and the card offers excellent performance for gaming in 1080p at more than 120 FPS or 1440p at more than 60 FPS on the most demanding titles on the market. Enough to take full advantage of the best current games without necessarily breaking the bank.

Samsung SSD
980 – 500 GB SSD

For storage, we stay on storage similar to that of our previous configurations by opting for a 500 GB M.2 SSD.

PCIe 3.0 compatible, the Samsung 980 SSD may not be the fastest model in the sector, but its speeds are more than enough to enjoy a perfectly fluid machine and reduced loading times during your games. With a speed of 3100 MB/s in reading and 2600 MB/s in writing, you will probably find it difficult to see the difference compared to more expensive models.

Currently available under the 60€ mark, it displays an unbeatable quality/price ratio and allows us here to easily store a Windows installation, many applications and a few AAA games.

Noctua NH-U12S Redux cooling

If the 12100F comes with its own fan, we still recommend switching to a more efficient solution with a more efficient cooler.

For around €50, we recommend that you go for the excellent Noctua NH-U12S Redux . The model takes the performance of the famous NH-U12S but skips some additional accessories to reduce costs. Alongside our 12100F, it allows us to maintain controlled temperatures and above all a very quiet machine. Alternative

Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240

If you prefer to equip yourself with an AIO watercooler, we recommend the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 for around 80€.

Renowned for its unbeatable value for money, this 240mm model offers excellent cooling performance and quiet operation. Its pump also has the particularity of carrying a small fan to facilitate the flow of air at the level of your VRM.

Clearly more than necessary for our little i3-12100F, but you can keep it without any problem during future upgrades to your machine. As for the cooler, don’t forget to add a mounting kit for LGA1700 socket.

Corsair CV650 power supply

For power, a 650W model is sufficient to meet the needs of this €900 PC Gamer configuration. On the other hand, the room for maneuver is a little limited if you wish to upgrade your configuration, in particular with a more powerful GPU.

Here to see a little depending on your budget and if you plan to quickly upgrade your machine. You can go on a small Corsair CV650 around 60€, certified 80 PLUS Bronze and non-modular.

For around €95, the Corsair TX650M is also an interesting choice with its larger capacity, its semi-modular design and its 80 PLUS Gold certification.

MSI
MAG Forge 100M case

For the case, choose according to your budget and your own design preferences. Be sure to select a model that allows you to set up good cooling and not an “oven” without any ventilation.

For around €60, the MSI MAG Forme 100M  is, in our opinion, an interesting choice with a rather neat design, a well-ventilated front panel and two 120 mm RGB fans. There is also a third fan in extraction, but without lighting this time.

Among other interesting choices in this price range, you can also take a look at the Sharkoon RGB Flow, the Corsair SPEC-DELTA or some models from DeepCool.
