Bose’s SoundSport Wireless Bluetooth Headphone is manufactured to manage athletic challenges and support it very well. It’s opposed to the element, it keeps a secure fit in your ears, and offers good sound. Unluckily, a handful of bit downfalls resist its potential.
What is it like to use the Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones?
These Headphones offer tuff plastic, which helps to become sweat-resistant. But, there are some reviews of people that face problems with sweat damaging the headphone, also it lacks an official IP rating. My own experience with this headphone is great because I used it for almost one month and I didn’t face any problem with it.
Bose provides the wireless headset with a small carrying case also including a carabiner clip integrated into the design, a micro USB charging cable, also provide two different sized sets of StayHear+ tips and the guide booklet.
In The Box
- Bose SoundSport Wireless headphones
- Earbud tips (x3)
- Micro USB charging cable
- Carrying case
The Bose SoundSport offers a comfortable earbud design. It doesn’t fully insert the ear canal and gets rid of the pain that a lot of listeners face with in-ear headphones.
Moreover, the Stay here tips are somewhat more comfortable and accessible than the Stayhere+ tips of the SoundTrue Ultra In-Ear and the QuietComfort 20. Unluckily, it moves around sometimes during jogging, which becomes a slight issue of discomfort and irritation.
Design and build
The Bose SoundSport offers more than average build quality. The Headphones are thick and designed with a hard plastic that won’t be damaged easily by a lot of sudden drops.
The audio cable offers a fair thickness, and the in-line control design overlay by a layer of rubber to result in it being sweatproof.
Unfortunately, the cable isn’t flat or extra rubberized to become much durable. It’s not much sweat proof as needed and can damage by regular uncovering to mugginess, which is not good.
The Bose SoundSport wireless offers a smooth sporty style. It comes in various colors for offering to purchase according to your choice with a premium look and design.
Unfortunately, it’s somewhat bulky and sticks out of your ears once you wear them, it’s a bit of a flaw.
This earbud provides a much stable feel in the ear. The Stayhere+ tips fit perfectly within the tone of your ears and always stay in-ear during jogging or workout.
Unluckily, it’s not as stable as headphones with an ear hook style like the JBL endurance Sprint or the Powerbeats3.
The Bose SoundSport wireless is simple to take around in a pocket, bag or purse. It’s a bit larger than normal in-ear models, but the cable isn’t much longer and doesn’t need much space.
Due to this, it’s too portable even though it’s a bit bigger as compared to other wireless in-ear headphones.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless offers superb NFC and multi-device pairing. Due to this, you can simply pair it to an NFC-capable device, or also pair it with both desktop or phone simultaneously to simply enjoy audio from both.
Moreover, it has nicely high latency on both PC and Android, and the iOS latency is fully low, which is impressive. It’s worth observing that some apps look to repay for this, so the space changes with normal daily use on Android devices.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless offers worse noise isolation, because of its semi-open earbud style. It doesn’t reduce the low rumble of bus or plane engines totally, and hardly blocks surrounding chatter.
While it’s not supported to reduce surrounding noise, it can be good when you are in a silent environment and stay away from noises for enjoying music or audiobooks.
Although it still blocks your ear canal, it’s not open like the AfterShokz Trekz Air which is going to be a good option for you, if you wanna reduce background noises during outdoor workouts.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless offers a well-balanced and neutral sound profile. It has a little extra bass, but it won’t be overwhelming or boomy at all.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless bass perfection is superb. It provides deep thumps and rumbles. The entire bass range is practically flat, offering a much well-balanced bass, with a bit of punch and kick.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless mid perfection is excellent. The bit deep-set mid-mid range jog the vocals and conduct instruments towards the backward of the mic by providing some more emphasis to the bass instrument.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless treble accuracy is impressive. Low-treble is flat, balanced, and consistent. Considering mid-treble and high-treble, these are a little less consistent, which can result in the sibilances (S and T sounds) a bit bumpy.
It has an in-line microphone on the wire connecting the right and left drivers.
The Bose SoundSport integrated mic recording quality is poor. The high LFE (low-frequency extension) provides sound thin, while the low HFE provides speech sound wrapped and airless.
It has a delicate but negative impact on the hearing criteria of speech recorded with the microphone.
The Bose SoundSport Wireless offers average battery performance overall. It offers 6-hour battery life that is not good, and it requires 1.5 hours to charge, which is not great for short battery life. On the other hand, it has an auto-off timer to save the power and battery bit.
- Too comfortable and stable fit.
- Powerful wireless performance.
- Well balanced and versatile soundstage.
- The long cable is great for studio use.
- Poor noise isolation.
- The downfall in build quality.
- Not great battery life.
Do the Bose SoundSport Wireless stay connected?
The Bose SoundSport wireless connects to your smartphone through Bluetooth 4.1 and offers NFC for tap-pairing. The range is much average almost 10 meters and results well.
I observed that there is a bit of skipping when working on my phone fastened to my left arm, and no skipping when it fastens to my right. So if you don’t like creepy music, ensure to keep your phone on the right side.
How long does the Bose SoundSport Wireless battery last?
The Bose SoundSport Wireless offer 6 hours, 45 minutes battery on single charge, which exceeds the set out six-hour battery life.
It’s not amazing if you are using unlimited, but for office usage, it can do a nice job. It requires 2 hours to fully charge, and it doesn’t offer a fast charging mode.
How do the Bose SoundSport Wireless sound?
If you want perfection/accuracy, you shouldn’t check the Bluetooth exercise headphones. Means, bass reproduction isn’t much drastically emphasized that it fully covers all detail from your audio. It’s better enough to concentrate on the beat while doing workout but you won’t get a skull-shaking rumble with this earbud. If you want this, you should check out the Beats Powerbeats.
Should you buy the Bose SoundSport Wireless in 2022?
Obviously, the price isn’t much as we consider for these Headphones. If you hate to use true wireless Headphones but need an adaptable wireless solution, it’s the best option to go with Bose SoundSport Wireless in 2022.
Overall, I recommend you the best result according to your need which is Bose SoundSport wireless earbud, that is best for sports or workouts and not much better option for commuting because of its poor noise isolation.
So, without wasting much time on research, if it fulfills your needs, it’s probably best to go with it.
