Who has already created his own fan following with blockbuster movies Kaithi, Vikram and Master. Directors Lokesh Kanagaraj and Thalapathy Vijay have together given blockbuster films like Master before. Overall, due to all these reasons, there is a tremendous craze among the fans about the film. Even before this, an interesting information about this film is coming out. If media reports are to be believed, the film has already done pre-release business of around Rs 400 crores before its release.
Thalapathy Vijay’s film Leo earned 400 crores even before its release
According to a report by Entertainment Portal, sources close to the film informed that while giving information, Thalapathy Vijay a film by Leo has already earned Rs 400 crores before its release. If reports are to be believed, the film has earned this amount by selling satellite, digital, music and theatrical rights.
Netflix acquires digital rights for 120 crores
A close source said, ‘The digital rights of the film Leo have been sold to Netflix for Rs 120 crore. Which includes the rights of Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages. The satellite rights have been sold to Sun TV for Rs 70 crore. At the same time, the music rights of the film have been sold for Rs 18 crore. Whereas, there is currently a war going on between Sat Max and Goldmines for the Hindi satellite rights. Which will be confirmed in the next 15 days. The price range of Hindi satellite rights is around Rs 30 crore.
Theatrical rights sold for Rs 175 crore
While the non-theatrical rights were sold for around Rs 240 crore, the film earned around Rs 175 crore from the theatrical rights. This is the amount received from the theatrical rights of the film sold globally. The source said, “The demand for the overseas rights of the film is around Rs 50 crore. Whereas, the film’s rights in Tamil Nadu cost Rs 75 crore. Whereas, a demand of about Rs 35 crore is coming from Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. There is a demand of Rs 15 crore from other parts of the rest of India. In such a situation, the film has already earned almost Rs 400 crore.
