Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s “S***show” at Classified Briefing Revealed
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) recently made headlines for her disruptive behavior during a classified briefing about a Chinese spy balloon. Now, a fellow Democratic lawmaker has revealed just how cringey the experience was.
Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen, who was present at the briefing, recounted the incident in an interview on the “Beyond Politics” podcast. He said Greene was “irrational” and “made a total, absolute fool of herself.” Greene had even boasted about her behavior at the presentation earlier this month, saying, “I tore ’em to pieces. I chewed them out.”
According to Cohen, Greene berated the officials present, saying, “You embarrassed the president of the United States. You let this balloon fly over the United States. We didn’t know what was in that balloon,” she added. “It could have been nuclear material. It could have been radiation…and you let it fly over our country for eight days?”
The balloon actually flew over the U.S. for four — not eight — days. When one of the officials attempted to respond to Greene’s comments, she shouted at him, Cohen recounted. “He said, ‘Ma’am, I didn’t interrupt you and I appreciate your not interrupting me.’ And she shut up,” Cohen added. “But she’s unbelievable.”
Greene has become notorious for her outlandish behavior, including her insistence that California wildfires were sparked by a “Jewish space laser” and her heckling of President Joe Biden during his recent State of the Union address.
It appears that Greene’s disruptive behavior is becoming increasingly more common, and more and more people are beginning to take notice. Whether or not Greene will face any consequences for her actions remains to be seen, but her antics are certainly concerning.
