Kathmandu, 1 Aug. Actress Suraksha Pant has been roped in for the film ‘Karsang’ directed by Yam Sherpa. Dayahang Rai and Buddhi Tamang have been finalized as the main actors in the film which is going to be produced under the banner of Yarsa Films. Similarly, Chiring Sherpa has been signed as a new heroine.
The director Sherpa informed that the line-up of the leading actors is about to be completed with the security contracted for the production on the social story of the Sherpa caste. This is director Sherpa’s debut directorial film. The film has his own writing (story, screenplay and dialogue). Earlier, Sherpa has directed many short films.
Director Sherpa said that other actors and technicians of the film will be finalized soon. It is said that the rest of the actors will be selected through auditions. He is also involved as a producer in the film directed by Purushottam Pradhan. The production side of the film, which will be shot after Tihar, will be shot at different locations in Bahrbise Municipality and the rest of Bhotekosi Rural Municipality.
The overseas rights of the film ‘Karsang’ have already been sold for an expensive amount even before the shooting. This film is going to be released in the international market by Seven Seas Entertainment Company. The official agreement between the production side of the film and the Seven Seas Company has been signed a few days ago.
RR Films Production’s Rohit Ratna has taken the responsibility of distributing the film across the country. Director Sherpa says that after the sale of the overseas rights, the film will be screened in Nepal and abroad.
